What materials are IZIPIZI glasses made from?

IZIPIZI glasses are always made from rigorously selected materials!
For most of our products, frames and lenses are made from polycarbonate, a highly resistant material that is light, durable and flexible.

Did you know? These days, the term “glasses” is almost a misnomer. In the majority of cases, eyewear manufacturers prefer polycarbonate to glass because it is lightweight and impact-resistant.

FOCUS ON BABY & KIDS GLASSES
Knowing that glasses are truly put to the test in the hands of very young children, we use materials that are more flexible and resistant to torsion than polycarbonate for the Baby & Kids range: thermoplastic rubbers, or TPE-E. As well as its physical properties, this material is hypoallergenic and contains no bisphenol-A.

GLASSES MADE FROM BIO-SOURCED MATERIALS
To further our eco-responsible approach, since 2021 we have been offering models made from a biosourced material, G850, which provides the same benefits as polycarbonate while remaining affordable. Our frames using this material are made from 45% castor oil, a 100% natural ingredient. Our aim is to reduce our carbon footprint and minimize the use of non-renewable resources. As well as the environmental benefits, these glasses are also longer-lasting and of higher quality. We are also developing a responsible transition to develop the materials used in our children's ranges.
