More than ten years ago we set ourselves the ambitious goal of protecting the eyes of the 2.5 billion longsighted people in the world. And so our READING glasses were born. Our ranges have since grown and now offer protection from the sun, the blue light emitted by electronic screens and the elements faced when practising a sport.

We design glasses that put a smile on your face and can be used every day, for every part of life and every activity. However you use them, they all have a common goal: protecting your eyes. Discover our different ranges, all designed to ensure every moment is a happy experience.

READING

Reading glasses

So you can enjoy reading a great book, even in the sun, or an article on a screen, we’ve got a range of glasses available with various dioptres. We make longsightedness stylish.

LONG-SIGHTEDNESS

Is a natural -and irreversible- evolution in sight which affects all people from 40 years old. The crystalline lens loses its elasticity and the eye is no longer able to produce a clear image. Long-sighted people have difficulty seeing up close (up to 60 cm), especially when reading.

REDISCOVER THE JOY OF READING

Our magnifying lenses are especially designed to correct longsightedness. Ultra-lightweight and scratch-resistant, they offer you clear vision when reading (you’ll need to take them off to look at faraway objects). And, because reading isn’t just about books, we also offer a special version for screens and reading in the sun. No more stacking one pair on top of another!

HOW TO CHOOSE MY DIOPTER?

We offer diopters: from +1 to +3. It is important to choose the right diopter to avoid premature damage to the eyes. To find out your diopter, simply use our reading test!

OUR CATEGORY 3 LENSES FOR EVERYDAY LIFE

Light’s intensity varies depending on the location, climate and geography. Various categories of protection exist to protect your eyes. Ranging from 0 to 4, each one corresponds to how much light is filtered, with five categories in total.

At IZIPIZI, we offer Category 3 lenses, the most common on the market. They absorb about two-thirds of visible light and are suitable as everyday sunglasses. Most of our lenses are grey, as this is the shade that renders natural colours most accurately.

100% UV FOR MAXIMUM PROTECTION

When the light is too strong, our pupils are unable to filter enough light to protect the eyes from ultraviolet rays (UV), which are extremely harmful. Our sunglasses offer 100% UV* protection, blocking all UV rays.

This protection is vital, even in cloudy weather—just because we can’t see UV rays doesn’t mean they aren’t there!

Our sunglasses are also available with dioptres for longsightedness (+1 to +3), and in Junior versions for 5 to 10-year-olds.

SCREEN

Screen glasses

Our SCREEN glasses make everyday life more bearable by filtering 40% of the harmful blue light emitted by screens, protecting your eyes and helping prevent fatigue and headaches.

BLUE LIGHT, A MAJOR CAUSE OF EYE FATIGUE

Sunlight contains blue light, making it essential to regulating many physiological functions.

Phone and computer screens and TVs all emit a more intense blue light, which causes digital eye strain (fatigue, dry eyes, headaches, watery eyes, blurred vision).

MODELS FOR ALL THE FAMILY

Our screen glasses are also available with dioptres for longsightedness (+1 to +3), and in Junior versions for 5 to 10-year-olds.

A SUSTAINABLE WAY TO USE SCREENS

Our SCREEN models have undergone special treatment so the lenses filter 40% of blue-violet light (emitted by screens) while letting through the blue-turquoise light essential to our well-being.
They help reduce eye strain, eye irritation and headaches.
NB. They look slightly yellow because this colour complements the blue and filters harmful rays.

Glasses for your children

We’re here for you at every stage of life, right from the start: Our sunglasses for 0 to 5-year-olds offer ideal protection from UV light and come in all styles and colours!

MAXIMUM PROTECTION

The lenses of young children’s eyes are particularly fragile because, unlike adults’, they are permeable to UVA. This makes it important to protect your little ones’ eyes with sunscreen filters, especially as damage to children’s eyes increases the risk of adult eye disease.

Our 100% UV (UV 400) Category 3 polarised grey lenses provide maximum protection while respecting natural colours. They reduce light intensity and protect your children’s eyes from glare.

FRAMES SPECIALLY ADAPTED TO BABIES’ FACES

Sunglasses for babies need to be adapted to their morphology, which is very different from adults’ faces. Babies generally have flatter faces, more prominent cheeks and less-developed nose bridges. To protect their eyes, frames need to fit their faces perfectly, properly covering the eye area all the way up to the eyebrows.
Our ultra-flexible, bisphenol-A free and hypo-allergenic frames are perfect for babies’ daily adventures. The straight arms ensure they will adapt to your babies’ growth.
Our models come with a removable silicon strip to ensure they stay on tight.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE?

We offer three models: 
- BABY for 0-9 months (head circumference: 34-41 cm)
- KIDS for 9-36 months (head circumference: 40-47 cm)
- KIDS+ for 3-5 years (head circumference: 46-53 cm)

Our technical lenses

Sport should be all about fun, which is why we’ve designed a range of models to improve your vision and protect your eyes during all outdoor activities. No need to worry about glare, snow, wind or branches!

FIVE LENS TYPES

We have developed five types of lens, each designed to achieve maximum results.
By combining a specific lens tint with mirror treatment, we can offer the perfect solution in terms of light filtering, colour balance and visual contrast in a wide range of weather conditions.

SUITABLE FOR ALL TYPES OF WEATHER

VLT quantifies the opacity of lenses. It stands for “visible light transmission” and is expressed as a percentage.
A high VLT means the lens will allow a large amount of light through.

MAXIMUM PROTECTION

Sun protection is optimised with mirror treatment that also provides scratch resistance.

SLEEPING

Sleeping glasses

Your eyes regulate your sleep. By blocking artificial light before you go to bed,
these revolutionary glasses naturally kick-start melatonin production,
helping you quickly fall into a deep and restorative sleep.

YOUR EYES REGULATE YOUR SLEEP

Your brain is in sync with the rhythms of the sun, and secretes melatonin to fall asleep when the sun sets. Everything literally happens before your eyes, as they transmit information to the brain, telling it whether or not it needs to produce melatonin. This is what’s known as the circadian cycle.

Sleep is key to:
- Alertness, responsiveness

- Learning capacity

As a result, it’s crucial for your body to be able to follow its natural circadian cycle.

BUT ARE DISRUPTED BY ARTIFICIAL LIGHT

We are exposed daily to artificial light that emits shortwave blue light at times that are out of step with the natural cycle: especially at night.

Artificial light experienced in the evening (from lightbulbs, screens, LEDs etc.) disrupts the secretion of melatonin, triggering:
- Difficulties falling asleep
- Shorter sleep cycles
- Fitful sleep that does little to repair and restore your body

REDISCOVER RESTORATIVE SLEEP

We joined forces with an optometry researcher to develop a pioneering solution: SLEEPING glasses.

The technology behind the GoodNight© lenses blocks artificial light, jumpstarting melatonin production and making sure you fall asleep quickly for a restful, restorative night.

RESULTS

In partnership with Opinionway, we ran a survey of 300 people experiencing light or recurrent sleep disorders.

On average, the time it took them to fall asleep was halved (dropping from an hour to 30 minutes) Three out of every five felt the glasses had improved the quality of their sleep and the time it took them to drop off Effectiveness perceived as from the fifth day of use.

CREATED IN PARIS TO SPREAD JOY THROUGHOUT THE WORLD

All our creations first come to life at IZIPIZI House in the centre of Paris. We are extremely grateful to have a passionate team whose many areas of expertise give our glasses their unique character.

While our optical engineer works on the angle of the lenses, our technical designer looks at the ergonomics of the arms, and other creative minds choose the perfect shades to go with them. Once all these talents have agreed on the perfect combination, our manufacturing partners step in.

Designing our models ourselves means that we can apply our high standards and creativity to every part of our glasses.

From metal or plastic hinges, to rivets, arm size, temple angle and pantoscopic tilt, everything is carefully designed and chosen to ensure the perfect balance of comfort and style.

While our Soft Touch texture is already one of IZIPIZI’s iconic signatures, in recent years our manufacturing partners’ expertise has allowed us to explore new territory in terms of raw materials.

By offering a different finish and grain, our glasses now look towards new horizons and promise some marvellous surprises in the future.

HIGH STANDARDS

Before we do any work together, our partners must meet a precise set of specifications in terms of production quality (ISO 12312-1 for lenses, ISO 14139 and compliance with the European Regulation 2017/745 on medical devices and EN71 for our young children’s glasses) and CSR commitments. In order to continually strive for better, we review these agreements together several times a year to maintain a high level of engagement and competences.


All our glasses, whether new or renewed, naturally undergo repeated testing at various stages in their production to ensure they can withstand the strains of everyday life.

REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

Our first Carbon Footprint, based on our 2019 emissions, allowed us to set

the goal of reducing the carbon footprint of our glasses by 50% by 2023.

A COMPREHENSIVE CARBON FOOTPRINT

 

We analyzed all our emissions across the 3 scopes defined by ADEME. This gives us a comprehensive understanding of our emissions and the means to define an action plan to achieve our goal.


Our approach: to reduce our carbon impact as much as possible before offsetting the unavoidable emissions.

In 2022, our carbon footprint per pair of glasses amounted to 1.58kg of CO2, a decrease of 47% compared to 2019!

Transportation and production are our major emission sources, on which we focus our efforts.

Our emissions related to transport have decreased by more than 60% compared to 2019, thanks to our strategy of reducing air shipments - which required a thorough review of internal processes, and the deployment of alternative solutions.
We are working on renewing our materials and managing our production waste to reduce emissions related to this activity area.
We are also streamlining all our advertising tools and the travel of our sales teams to improve our performance in the Sales and Marketing area.

We continue our reduction efforts, aiming to reach a balance of 1.49 kg CO2ee per pair of glasses by the end of 2023, a 50% reduction compared to our 2019 Report.

MAKING OUR MATERIALS MORE SUSTAINABLE

 

Our goal was to achieve 30% biobased production by the end of 2023, and we reached 48% of our production!
We have thus deployed a material 45% based on castor oil across all our new products and a significant portion of our existing catalog

 

 

Every day progress is made on materials, and we continue to explore alternative paths with even reduced impact. By the end of 2025, 100% of our production will use responsible materials, whether they are biobased, recycled, biodegradable...

SUPPORTING CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS

 

 

Since 2022, we have been committed to two organizations: L’Union pour L'enfance and La Cloche.

The first aims to protect children, especially by supporting parents, and the second works to change how we view the world of the street. Missions that echo ours: to protect the eyes of the entire family, in all life's moments - including the most challenging ones.

We have committed to equipping the volunteers of these organizations, but most importantly, to financially supporting them for two years.

L'UNION POUR L'ENFANCE

Protecting children

By participating in the opening of a new center in Orne in 2022: "Les Crins Verts", to accommodate young people requiring adapted protection.

Preserving sibling groups

By proposing the creation of a reception facility for 30 young people, so that children can live daily with their siblings.

The project must be accepted by the city of Paris by February 2024 to proceed.

LA CLOCHE

Recreating social links in 2 new cities in 2022: Bordeaux and Montpellier through the distribution of meals, choirs, shared gardens…

Developing awareness actions in primary schools throughout 2022

Strengthening the Carillon network by opening 30 new businesses in Ile de France in 2023. This solidarity network of proximity between merchants, residents, and homeless people acts against extreme exclusion by offering free services and products to those who need them.

 

Through the Vendredi platform, we offer each of our employees the opportunity to dedicate two days a year of their skills to the charity of their choice. This platform simplifies the act of solidarity by connecting charities and employees who wish to engage.

Each employee can thus offer their time and skills to charities that are close to their heart.

 

 

In 2023, approximately 140 hours of volunteer work were carried out with a dozen charities.

 

 

 

Since 2018, we have been donating pairs to charities in need.

Tomorrow

Our donations - whether monetary, pairs, or skills - have allowed many charities to expand their actions in recent years.

However, we have observed that to offer a stronger impact potential, we must focus our efforts rather than spreading them too thin.


We have chosen to focus our donations on L’Union pour l’Enfance from 2024 onwards.

All our charitable initiatives will therefore aim to provide them with the means to support a cause that is dear to us: protecting the family.
