Sunglasses
What sunglasses do you offer for adults and children?
We offer sunglasses for adults and children with lenses that provide maximum UV protection, mounted on unisex frames designed for timeless style and optimum comfort.
Our sunglass lenses comply with international standards for protective sunglasses (ISO 12312-1).
How do your sunglass lens categories work?
The visible light transmission (VLT) index indicates how much visible light passes through sunglass lenses. The higher the VLT, the more light passes through the lenses.
Because light intensity varies depending on location, climate and surroundings, sunglasses are divided into 5 protection categories, from 0 to 4:
Category 0: very light tint, for low light
Category 1: light tint, for limited sunlight
Category 2: medium tint, for moderate sunlight
Category 3: dark tint, for strong sunlight
Category 4: very dark tint, for extremely bright conditions
The higher the category, the less visible light passes through the lenses.
What lens category do most SUN models have?
Most glasses in our SUN range are fitted with category 3 lenses, which absorb around two-thirds of visible light.
To check the protection category of a specific model, please refer to its product page.
Most lenses in the SUN range are grey because this tint distorts natural colours the least.
Do your sunglasses provide UV protection?
Yes. Our sunglasses provide 100% UV protection, allowing no UV rays to pass through.
When light is very strong, the pupils cannot filter enough to protect the eyes from ultraviolet rays, which are extremely harmful. This protection remains essential even on cloudy days: just because UV rays are invisible does not mean they are not present.
What are polarized sunglasses?
Polarized sunglasses are designed to improve visual comfort by reducing irritating reflections caused by reflected light.
The sun emits two types of light:
Direct light, which reaches the eye vertically and helps us distinguish colours and contrasts
Indirect light, also known as reflected light or reverberation, which creates irritating reflections and can be harmful in excess
This reflected light is especially strong on flat surfaces such as the sea, snow, or wet roads, and can cause annoying glare even when wearing standard sunglasses.
How do polarized lenses work?
Polarized lenses are equipped with a special filter that helps eliminate irritating reflections caused by reverberation.
In addition to providing UV protection, they block excess reflected light, reduce glare, and deliver greater visual comfort.
When should polarized sunglasses be used?
Polarized sunglasses can be worn whenever the sun is out, but they are particularly suitable for outdoor activities such as water sports and driving, where they help improve perception of the surrounding environment.
They can also help small children learn colours and walk more quickly.
Screen & sleeping glasses
What are SCREEN glasses?
SCREEN glasses are designed to be worn when using digital devices such as computers, tablets or smartphones.
Their lenses feature a specific coating that filters 40% of violet-blue light, while allowing turquoise-blue light to pass through.
What are SLEEPING glasses?
SLEEPING glasses are designed to help you fall asleep faster and improve the quality of your sleep.
They filter out blue light, particularly blue-turquoise light, which can disrupt the body’s natural production of melatonin in the evening. By supporting your natural sleep cycle, they help prepare your body for more restorative sleep.
Sleep plays a vital role in alertness, mood, learning ability, and overall well-being, making good-quality sleep essential.
How do SLEEPING glasses work?
Your brain follows the natural rhythm of daylight. As light fades in the evening, it begins to produce melatonin, the hormone that helps you fall asleep.
When the blue-turquoise light perceived by your eyes decreases, this signals the brain to trigger melatonin secretion. SLEEPING glasses support this natural process by filtering out the wavelengths that can interfere with it.
Artificial light from screens and indoor lighting, especially in the evening, can disrupt the body’s natural sleep cycle.
Blue light can interfere with melatonin production and may lead to difficulty falling asleep, shorter sleep duration, and lighter, less restorative sleep.
This is why reducing exposure to blue light in the evening can help support better sleep conditions.
Are SLEEPING glasses effective?
In partnership with OpinionWay, we conducted a study on 300 people with mild to regular sleep problems.
On average, the time taken to fall asleep was halved, from 1 hour to 30 minutes. In addition, 3 out of 5 participants said the glasses improved both the quality of their sleep and the time it took them to fall asleep.
Users reported feeling the effects after just 5 days of use.
Reading glasses
What is presbyopia?
Presbyopia is a natural and irreversible age-related change in vision that usually begins around the age of 40.
As the eye’s natural lens gradually loses flexibility, it becomes harder to focus on nearby objects.
People with presbyopia typically experience blurred near vision, especially when reading or looking at objects at a short distance. Reading glasses or other suitable vision correction can help restore clear close-up vision.
Our reading glasses for presbyopia
Designed for near vision, our ultra-light reading glasses feature anti-scratch lenses to help you see clearly when reading or looking at objects up close.
Please note that reading glasses are intended for close-up vision only. You will need to remove them to see clearly at a distance. A neck cord can be a practical way to keep them close at hand throughout the day.
Our reading glasses are available in the following strengths: +1.0, +1.5, +2.0, +2.5 and +3.0.
The same correction is applied to both lenses.
We do not offer strengths above +3.0. Higher corrections generally require more specific optical support.
Please note that IZIPIZI is not an optician.
Our ready-to-wear reading glasses are designed for presbyopia only and do not correct other vision conditions such as hyperopia, astigmatism or myopia. We do not offer custom-made prescription lenses.
It is important to choose a correction that feels comfortable and suitable for your needs, and to avoid selecting a strength that is stronger than necessary. For example, if you need +1.75 and this strength is not available, we recommend choosing +1.5 rather than +2.0.
As presbyopia changes over time, the level of correction you need may also evolve over the years.
To help you estimate the strength you may need, you can use our reading test.
For the test to be reliable, the A4 page must be printed and the instructions followed carefully. Please note that this test is provided as a guide only and does not replace an eye exam carried out by a qualified professional.

Materials & product care
What materials are IZIPIZI glasses made from?
What materials are IZIPIZI glasses made from?
IZIPIZI glasses are primarily made from polycarbonate, a lightweight and highly impact-resistant material commonly used in eyewear. It offers excellent durability, flexibility and everyday comfort.
Unlike traditional glass lenses, polycarbonate is much more resistant to breakage, making it safer and better suited for daily use.
FOCUS ON BABY & KIDS GLASSES
For our Baby & Kids range, we use TPE-E (thermoplastic elastomers), which are even more flexible and resistant to twisting than polycarbonate.
This ensures:
greater durability when handled by young children
improved comfort
enhanced safety
This material is also hypoallergenic and BPA-free, making it suitable for sensitive skin.
GLASSES MADE FROM BIO-SOURCED MATERIALS
As part of our efforts to reduce reliance on fossil-based materials, we offer selected models made from G850, a bio-sourced material.
These frames are made from 45% castor oil, a renewable natural resource, while maintaining the same performance standards as traditional materials.
Our objective is to progressively reduce our environmental impact while ensuring long-lasting quality and durability.
