Blue Light Reading Glasses

Blue light reading glasses combine magnifying lenses for presbyopia with a blue light filtering treatment. They are designed for people who need help with close-up vision and spend time on digital devices such as computers, tablets or smartphones. Like all reading glasses, they are intended for near vision only and should be removed to see clearly at a distance.

Our screen lenses filter 40% of blue-violet light, the part of the light spectrum emitted in large quantities by screens and LED lighting. At the same time, they let through blue-turquoise light, which plays a beneficial role in regulating your body’s natural sleep-wake cycle. This balanced filtering is designed to improve visual comfort during screen time without altering the colours you see.

Possibly. A computer screen is usually placed further away than a book, around 50 to 70 cm compared with 30 to 40 cm for reading. At this distance, a slightly lower strength may feel more comfortable. For example, if you use +2.0 to read a book, +1.5 may be better suited to working on a computer. Our reading test can help you estimate the right strength, and an eye professional can advise you if you spend long hours in front of a screen.

Yes, blue light reading glasses work just like classic reading glasses, so you can use them to read a book, a magazine or your phone. Keep in mind that if you chose a lower strength for your computer, it may feel slightly weak for very close reading. In that case, our classic reading glasses are a great complement, and for reading outdoors in bright sunlight, discover our reading sunglasses.
